Hunting On The Deerbrook Game Preserve

For 2008, the Deerbrook Game Preserve will be offering guided, trophy whitetail hunts. Hunters can choose the type of hunting they like - elevated stands, ground blinds, or stalk hunting. Bow, rifle, shotgun (with slugs), handgun (high caliber) and even crossbow can be used. It is our objective to provide safe, exciting and challenging hunts.

We want to provide a trophy hunting opportunity for each of our visitors. For this reason, we will be limiting the number of trophy hunts in 2008 to 1. Based on antler growth and the bucks viewed in 2007 we project ample 135+ class deer to handle this hunt but want to let most of the deer grow another year for future hunts. By limiting the number of trophy hunts we can manage the heard to produce trophy whitetail bucks for years to come.

We do not choose the buck you shoot - you do!. Our deer are raised wild and you will have to hunt to have the opportunity to harvest a trophy buck. They are very sensitive to humans, so come prepared with cover scent, camo clothing, attractants, grunts, rattling horns, etc. Once the deer is shot, we will gross score the antlers (Boone and Crockett scoring with no deductions). This score will determine your final cost.

Deerbrook Preserve Guarantee

We guarantee that you will have an "opportunity" to shoot a deer in the price range you choose. By "opportunity" we mean that at least one deer in your price range will present you with a shot. You must then decide whether or not to harvest the deer. If it is the first day of your hunt and you are seeing lots of deer - then you might wait for another opportunity. But if the weather forecast is not conducive to hunting then you might decide to take the first opportunity to present itself. It is your choice. If you do pass on an "opportunity" and you harvest no deer, you will only use your deposit ($500). If you do not get an "opportunity" to shoot a deer in your price range then you will get a full refund of your deposit.

Our goal is to be fair and treat hunters like we would like to be treated.

Price Determination

So, what happens when shooting time comes? Before your hunt, you will indicate the maximum price you want to spend on a trophy whitetail. For this example, let's say it is $3,000. So you can shoot up to a 139 buck (Boone and Crockett Gross Score - no deductions). If a nice buck walks out that you like and you want to shoot, your guide will let you know if it is in your price range. If so, shoot it! After it is down, we will score the deer. If it is a 135 to 139, then the cost is $3,000. If it is less than a 135, then you will pay the lesser amount for the class deer you shoot. If it is larger than 139 (the guide under estimated and you shot a bigger trophy) then you still only pay $3,000. We do not handle the deer during the year so we do not know the exact score of every deer. The guide will be making a quick determination (estimate) at what the score of the deer is when it comes in.

With our system you will never have to pay more than the deer is worth or more than your budget.

The Deerbrook Game Preserve does all the work for you!
Just come and enjoy the hunt!
